Thursday, September 17, 2015: Ready to can Canning Tomatoes by the half and visit our Pumpkin Patch!

While today looks to be another beautiful day, heavy rain is forecast for tomorrow and tomorrow night. This rain might cause severe losses in our tomato fields due to cracking.  We plan on picking as many ripe tomatoes as possible today.  Similar heavy rains in the past has brought an untimely end to our canning tomato harvest.  The rain should be over Saturday morning and the rest of the weekend looks good.  After this rain a lengthy spell of pleasant dry weather appears to be in the offing.  The heavy rain tomorrow shouldn’t bother our other crops but it can decimate our ripe tomatoes.  We shall see…

If you are looking for a large quantity of canning tomatoes then placing an order would be best. Otherwise, just stopping in is fine with us and probably easier for you so you can stop in at your own convenience. However, our high-quality canning tomatoes won’t be lasting much longer so if you haven’t already stopped by, you should do so soon!
